This week I was sitting in my room trying to think of what to do for my photography project and so many thoughts kept coming to my mind. So as I was trying to think I suddenly got an idea…SCAVENGER HUNT! Last year in photo 1 and 2 we had scavenger hunts every once in a while. I thought they were so entertaining. Not only do you have to focus on one main idea for photography, but also three or four others. It was a challenge that I liked very much. So this week I decided to jumble all my thoughts together and then choose my favorite out of each category to use on my blog. My scavenger hunt list included food photography, friends, shoes, fall photography, and pet photography. For the first one on the list I got that inspiration from the photo 3/4/5 blog http://photocda.edublogs.org/. Last year sometime my photography teacher gave a suggestion to try doing food photography. The thought of that amused me. I went to a blog for inspiration that had tips on food photography. It is the same blog my photography teacher recommended to go to for tips. http://www.digital-photography-school.com/food-photography-techniques-and-tips. The second thing on the list, friends, had no true inspiration. It was just a thought that appeared in my head that I thought sounded good. The third thing on the list, shoes, came from myself as well. I was just thinking of ideas that are not thought of much and shoes popped into my mind. We have all heard of portraying hands, feet, clothing, etc. to get an idea of how people live and tell you about them with out actually telling you about them, but has anyone though of shoes? Now I’m sure people actually have thought of that, I know I’m probably not the first, but I’m sure people don’t come across it a lot in blogs.  My fourth idea, fall photography, was an inspiration I got from Allison Parsons http://aeparsons.wordpress.com/. She included tips from a site that I also went to for tips on fall photography http://www.digital-photography-school.com/autumn-fall-photography-capturing-colours. The tips helped me out a lot. I recommend them to anybody doing fall photography. My fifth and final idea on the list, pet photography, got inspiration from many different blogs I have looked through. I realized a lot of people like to photograph their pets. Some blogs I got inspiration from included http://annabash.wordpress.com/page/3/ and http://rogersmikaela.wordpress.com/. I got some tips for pet photography from http://www.digital-photography-school.com/9-pet-photography-tips. I really enjoyed doing this scavenger hunt. Okay well thank you for reading this super long write-up, now here are the photos for you finally. 🙂

Food Photography: I really ended up liking this picture. I like how the front cupcake is completely in focus, and then the three background cupcakes are out of focus. They really add to the picture though. The only editing I did on this was change the levels a little bit.

Friends: I liked the turnout of this picture because it seems so friendly and warm. The edits I did included spot healing tool and I changed the picture to old style because it gave me more of a warm, calm feeling to the picture.

Friends: I included this picture also because I could not decide if I like this one or the one before this more. I like this one because the fact that they are laughing. It really portrays how friends are together. It makes the picture so realistic. Not just posed. Tell me your input because I can’t decide.

Shoe Photography: This project I really enjoyed and want to go much farther with some other time. (Foreshadowing 🙂 ) The reason why I changed the photo to black and white is not only because it looked good, but also, along with the shoes, it explains the personality of this person. The model I had for these shoes has a very simple, black and white, personality. Therefore, making this picture black and white was the cherry on top of the sundae.

Fall Photography: This picture was taken at a pumpkin patch out in Spokane. I was at the top of this castle thing in the middle of a corn maze, and I decided this would be a good chance for a picture overlooking the pumpkin patch. I really like how much fall colors there are in this. I thought about editing out the two cars in the picture, but I thought those cars added nicely to the picture because the have reds in them, which add to the fall colors.

Pet Photography: I learned throughout doing this portion of my project that pet are NOT easy to take photographs of. They are not like human to where you can tell them to pose in certain positions and they listen. You kind of have to work with the dog and get what you can. I had a little bit of a problem shooting picture of my dogs because they are al very hyper active and would not sit still. Believe it or not this is the only photo that has no blur. I changed this to black and white because the dog is originally black and all the background objects were so bright they were taking the attention away from her. I made her eyes blue because her normal eyes turned out red and it look pretty demonic. Plus, the blue looks pretty:) I know maybe it’s not the most realistic, but oh well. The angle I sot at did make her head look rather large, and her body look rather small, but I actually like it. It grabs attention more.

Well thanks for looking 🙂
